I was all set to give you an opportunity to pray for the Tobo people of Papua New Guinea the same way you prayed for the Abaus. The missionaries had scheduled the final lesson – in which the Gospel is presented – for this coming Monday.<\/p>\n

Then circumstances changed, and they presented the Gospel this week, before I could give you an opportunity to take part in that very exciting step.<\/p>\n

But all is not lost! By being part of our ministry, you are already helping expand the reach of the Gospel to the Abaus and the Tobos and hundreds of other tribes. And have I got an offer for you:<\/p>\n

Three great ways to take part for under $1.<\/p>\n

Yes, that’s $1 total, not $1 each. No, you don’t have to call right now, and no operators are standing by. You won’t get a bonus set of steak knives or the Slice-O-Matic you’ve seen elsewhere for up to $19.95.<\/p>\n

What you’ll get is far more valuable: the opportunity to partner with us in expanding the reach of the Gospel, by helping to meet the three most important needs of our ministry.<\/p>\n

Less than $1? You’ve probably got that much change sitting on a dresser or in a drawer or a purse somewhere. And you may not even need to spend that much. That’s just for envelopes and stamps, so if you’ve got one or two of each, or use e-mail instead, you’re all set.<\/p>\n

We need help right now keeping our focus on God. Circumstances are very discouraging and therefore distracting.<\/p>\n

Or will you go further? Will you make a commitment to pray for us daily or weekly, and take the time to check our prayer requests online? They’re just a click away >><\/a><\/p>\n

If you’ve prayed for us, or made a commitment to pray for us, will you put a note to that effect in the letter or e-mail as well? And that way you’re also taking part in the third way …<\/p>\n

Will you encourage us?<\/span> God calls on us to encourage one another. That – along with our great appreciation for the role you’re already playing in our ministry – is why we write the kind of newsletters we do. We want you to know that your part in our ministry is not simply making a difference – it’s changing lives! You are helping expand the reach of the Gospel to every tribe.<\/p>\n

We know you’re reading our updates, and praying and giving in order to make our ministry possible. And we know that’s because you value and appreciate our ministry. But God tells us to encourage each other because sometimes we all need to hear that.<\/p>\n

You can send a note by mail or e-mail. It can be as simple as “Thank you for serving God.” Or you can become an encouragement partner, and actively seek out ways you can practically encourage us in our ministry.<\/p>\n

So, please, will you use one envelope and one 39-cent stamp, or an e-mail, to help change the world? Will you please help build our team? Will you pray for us? Will you encourage us to press on in the work God has called us to?<\/p>\n
