A mix of relief, excitement, and fear swept over me as our Director of Operations broke the news to us last week\u202613 May 2016 will be our last official day working\/training here at the NTM Aviation headquarters in McNeal, AZ!<\/p>\n

RELIEF\u2026They were words we\u2019d been waiting to hear as we\u2019d already begun looking ahead to a whirlwind summer tour of the country to share the story of the Lord\u2019s work we get to be part of, to connect with those the Lord will use to partner with us to further His good work, and to say a lot of goodbyes (or at least \u201csee you laters\u201d).\u00a0 Let the planning begin\u2026<\/p>\n

EXCITEMENT\u2026We\u2019ve been working at this for so long and though we\u2019ll always have more to learn, this is it!\u00a0 This is the end of our training on this side of the globe for the work the Lord\u2019s drawn our hearts to on the other side.\u00a0 We\u2019re so close\u2026<\/p>\n

FEAR\u2026But we\u2019re so far away!\u00a0 Look at all we still have to do here to pack, sell, and ship stuff before we leave in a couple weeks, and that\u2019s nothing, look at the resources we still lack to get overseas and we want to be there by 1 Aug\u2026what were we thinking?!<\/p>\n

You know how in Bible study or church or Sunday school it never seemed to make sense that the Israelites would see God do absolutely astounding<\/em> things and then they\u2019d turn right<\/em> around and grumble, or worse, forget Him altogether, looking instead in all the wrong places to try to meet their needs?\u00a0 Yeah, that can soooo be me. \u00a0The fear was but a brief flash, however, as the Lord slapped me on the back of the head\u2026had I<\/em> so quickly forgotten?<\/p>\n

Just last month I spent 7 days laid out on the couch wracked with fever, chills, and nasty body aches (Take an hour to get a flu shot?\u00a0 \u201cAin\u2019t nobody got time for that.\u201d).\u00a0 The whole week as I lay there, clearly and prominently displayed before me was an awesome piece of art capturing Exodus 14:14.<\/p>\n

See, in verse 10 of that chapter the Israelites were\u00a0standing on the bank of the Red Sea.\u00a0 As they looked back and caught\u00a0sight of Pharaoh\u2019s army rapidly approaching, \u201cThey were terrified and cried out to the LORD.\u201d\u00a0 Moses wasn\u2019t having it though. \u00a0His response?\u00a0 He answered the people, \u201cThe LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.\u201d [v14]\u00a0 After all they\u2019d just seen and been through, they somehow still thought this was their fight, and they stood paralyzed by fear.\u00a0 The Lord wasn\u2019t about to have it either.\u00a0 His response?\u00a0 \u201c\u2026move on.\u201d [v15]<\/p>\n

He wasn\u2019t contradicting Moses, rather it\u2019s as if He was saying to them, \u201cDon\u2019t go runnin\u2019 around scared actin\u2019 a fool, be still for a second while I talk to you.\u00a0 Settle down and look at me.\u00a0 It\u2019s not your fight, it\u2019s Mine, I\u2019ve got this.\u00a0 Don\u2019t just stand there, though, I\u2019ve got places to take you, I\u2019ve got so many more things to do in and through you so get movin\u2019 because I want to bring you into My rest, and this isn\u2019t it.\u201d<\/p>\n

How quickly I forgot as I stood there on the bank between the familiar land of training and the swirling mess of things which lie before us between now and Aug.\u00a0 I forgot that while I lay there on the couch, completely and utterly helpless, Jehovah Jireh, The Lord who Provides, did just that in such an incredible way every \u2013 single \u2013 day<\/strong> that week.\u00a0 Every day I lay there He prompted new ministry partners to join the team in everything from monthly support, to helping with moving costs, to committing to remembering us in prayer.\u00a0 \u201cImie,\u201d He was saying to me, \u201cIt\u2019s not your fight, it\u2019s Mine, I\u2019ve got this.\u201d<\/p>\n

I thank the Lord for the privilege of participating in His work and the fact that it\u2019s not my fight (even though I have some work to do).\u00a0 How amazing a truth that is, well, at least until the next time I forget, which will probably be tomorrow\u2026thank You Lord for Your great grace!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
