{"id":293,"date":"2019-02-07T07:48:18","date_gmt":"2019-02-07T12:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/?p=293"},"modified":"2019-02-07T07:48:19","modified_gmt":"2019-02-07T12:48:19","slug":"the-sign-says-it-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/2019\/02\/07\/the-sign-says-it-all\/","title":{"rendered":"The Sign Says It All&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"149\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800-600x149.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800-600x149.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800-300x75.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800-768x191.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800-125x31.jpg 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800-250x62.jpg 250w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800-450x112.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/imie-mark\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_204737-800.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption><em>This hand-carved sign, purchased when we first arrived in PNG, visible from our kitchen, dining room, and living room, serves as an ever-present reminder of that truth.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this week when Amy went in to our medical clinic for a planned check in with the doc, we found that her hemoglobin had dropped to the levels we saw just before heading to Australia last November when she received an intravenous iron infusion.\u00a0 Her numbers this week were equal to the lowest we\u2019ve seen them on any of her many blood tests.\u00a0 As that trendline continues to slowly decline and the resultant side effects slowly intensify, we look ahead four weeks to when we\u2019ll be heading back to the US to seek further medical care, testing, and (Lord willing) diagnosis for Amy.\u00a0 We praise the Lord that, drawing on our savings and the timely gifts of some dear friends, we had the funds necessary to purchase our airfare.\u00a0 We praise Him for the peace He is giving us through this and rejoice as the Great Physician has linked us with two fantastic doctors who are seeking to help us connect with the right medical resources in East Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In sickness or in health, <strong>God is good.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we mentioned in our last update, since arriving in PNG in 2016 we had kept before us the potential of owning a vehicle and house here someday.\u00a0 As another aviation family transitions off the field this month that potential became a realistic possibility, but with the timing and expense of our pending medical trip we just weren\u2019t sure.\u00a0 We prayed.\u00a0 A few folks stepped forward and richly blessed our family through their generous gifts.\u00a0 We prayed.\u00a0 Then, over the past two days, the Lord allowed the pieces to fall into place in such a way that tomorrow afternoon we\u2019re scheduled to sign a sales contract for a house and vehicle.\u00a0 While we\u2019ll have payments to make for some time in order to settle the full balance, the Lord, Jehovah Jireh, our provider, furnished the finances needed to make the down payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether facing need or abundance, <strong>God is good.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A friend recently shared this quote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.<\/em><\/p><cite>Chuck Swindoll<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, we serve <em>the<\/em> God for whom nothing is too hard (Jer 32:17 &amp;
