We made it to Papua New Guinea last friday evening, and it feels a little bit surreal! But it also feels like we are home. Like our family finally has a place to settle in. And in a sense, while we left one family behind with tears, we have been welcomed by another family, our dear friends\/coworkers the Sanders and Hambrices. After flying on 5 different airplanes, through 6 airports, over the span of 33 hours plus one overnight\u2026we made it. There are several play areas. We ate dinner and changed into PJs before our big 15 hour flight that left at 10pm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/2014\/08\/08\/travel-days\/img_3015-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-544\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-544\" title=\"IMG_3015\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30151-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30151-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30151-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30151-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30151.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nora was asleep before the plane took off, and Rynn followed close behind. We could not have asked for a better flight, all the prayers were definitely felt! Fortunately, they booked us on the next one!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/2014\/08\/08\/travel-days\/img_3032-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-535\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-535\" title=\"IMG_3032\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30322-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30322-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30322-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30322-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jack-crabtree\/files\/2014\/08\/IMG_30322.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I would say our layover in Cairns, Australia was the toughest, because the girls were just loopy from endless hours of traveling. We overnighted there, because we came in on the last flight of the day. We had a great time at the guest house there and spending time with the government reps, the Trostruds. We woke up and had a peaceful morning sipping coffee and getting to know the Trostruds\u2019 two parrots. Definitely a cultural experience!<\/p>\n<p>We were greeted by some new and old friends, and had dinner waiting for us in the fridge (Thanks Shawna!!)
