We have started our trek south, heading out on our road trip! We are now in Springville, PA where we have enjoyed time with a NTM Member Care couple. Tomorrow we get to visit some co-workers and Jacob’s brother and family here in PA. We are hoping that we will run into some warm weather as we continue to head south, but today we heard that there is a big snow storm coming. Virginia is supposed to get 33 inches of snow when we attempt to drive down on Friday and Saturday. We would appreciate your prayers as we travel to VA, TN, KY, MO, IN, MI and on to Ontario, Canada and back to Nova Scotia mid-March. Please pray for safety and wisdom through any weather that we encounter. It seems that life is always an adventure no matter where we are in the world!
We enjoyed our time with both our families around Christmas! So good to be home again! God also gave us the opportunity to be introduced to a new church family in Nova Scotia and share about PNG right after Christmas, despite a snow storm many people came to hear what God is doing in PNG! We also have been able to take care of all those things that you can’t do in PNG like, renewing driver’s license, purchasing new eye glasses, doctors and dentists appointments, physical therapy appointment, buy needed things like shoes and clothes, much needed use of the internet and of course putting together our PNG presentation.
We have already been so amazed at how much God has encouraged and blessed us over the last two months here in North America! Thank you all for praying for us as we continue to adjust to the North American culture and share what God is doing in the Sepik of Papua New Guinea. Please let us know if you would like us to stop in for a visit on our road trip or anytime while we are home. Or if you would like us to share in your church, small group or Sunday school in the next year.
Praises!
-Enjoying life in North America…. Snow, wearing sweatshirts and jeans, smooth roads, fast internet, yummy salads, sausage and bacon and more!
-A God who sent His Son to die for our sins and rose him up so that we could have daily life abundantly and REST in Him!
-Christmas with both of our families!
-Opportunities to visit our siblings and their families in North America!
-Jonathan loves our times of travel, meeting new family and friends… so many new people to play with!
-God’s continued provision for our needs moment by moment!
-Many churches and people interested in hearing how God is working in the Sepik of PNG!
-Bill Morlang, co-worker, had a successful knee surgery and just arrived back in he Sepik with his wife, Jen!
-Two new families (Rimestads and Cizdziels) have moved to the Sepik to start the process of moving into a new bush location to do Church Planting.
Prayer requests:
-Ability to choose gratitude instead of our default of ingratitude in the circumstances of our daily lives.
-Rest in God as we enjoy being parents each day.
-Logistics and planning as well as safety and wisdom during our road trip.
-Clarity of mind and speech as we share our ministries while traveling.
-God’s provision for full support in the next year. We are currently at a 70% support level.
-Wisdom and strength for our co-workers back in the Sepik as they fill in for us and get ready for the Sepik Conference.
-Healing of our friend, Elissa, so she can work full time in PNG.
-God would continue to raise up more missionaries to come to the Sepik and bring the Gospel to those who have never heard it their own heart language.
-More labors to minister to the Bena people.
Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement!
