Jacob and Naomi going to see the cows, a bit of exercise
Happy 2nd Birthday Naomi!!
Thank you all for praying for Jacob and our family over the last month as we were medevac’d to Australia for Jacob’s broken leg. And thank you for praying for our travel back to PNG! We had help from so many people as we traveled, it was amazing! And we are so glad to be back in PNG! It has been so cool to see the body of Christ work in this whole ordeal!
We are at the NTM Centre now staying at a guest house apartment. The doctor here said that we should plan to be here for a month as Jacob continues to rest and keep weight off his leg. In about a weeks’ time he will have an x-ray to see if the bone has healed. If so, he will be able to put weight on his leg and start with some more physical therapy in order to regain the strength in his leg so he can walk again. Jacob is seeing progress in the movement and strength, and feeling less pain, in his leg each day. So we are encouraged!
We are so thankful that Jacob only has a broken femur and the surgery to put in a rod, screws and cables will bring him back to his normal self. We have heard many stories of people who have fallen and have had so many more injuries that affect them for a lifetime. The surgeon that fixed Jacob’s leg, actually refused to do the surgery until he had a second, more complex, scan on his spine because he didn’t believe that Jacob could have no spinal injuries after a fall from 16 feet. So Jacob went through more pain to have this scan and the doctor announced that miraculously there were no spinal injuries, only a broken femur!
