Resting in God\u2026do we believe that God only gives us what we can handle? Do we complain when it seems we have too much work, too much to do? Yet God has put us in these situations and has given us these responsibilities. And He knows that when we rest in Him we will have enough strength for the tasks He has set before us each day.<\/p>\n
Some friends of ours went out to eat at a restaurant here in Papua New Guinea a while ago. They ordered their food and after an unusually long wait, they asked their waitress if their food was almost ready. The waitress replied, \u201cthe cooks got weak and tired and went home\u201d, so there was no one there to cook their food. Sometimes it feels like God has placed us in impossible situations. Physically and logically speaking it doesn\u2019t look like we can function and make it through the day, we know that we can\u2019t do this thing. In short, we get weak and tired and just want to go home, just like those cooks at the restaurant. This work is too much for me, and I know that I will fail.<\/p>\n
BUT GOD\u2026 , But the reality is, The Lord is the everlasting God,\u00a0the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary,\u00a0and His understanding no one can fathom. In other words, He can\u2019t fail. And since God has given us our daily tasks and responsibilities, we are doing His work, so we can\u2019t fail either because He gives strength to the weary\u00a0and increases the power of the weak. So, He will make us succeed in spite of ourselves, although sometimes our definition of success is not quite the same as God\u2019s definition of success. J God promised in the Bible that He would succeed. And as we look to God and not our own lack of strength, there is great peace and rest, knowing that God is taking care of things, not us.<\/p>\n
As we continue to settle in here in the support center for the Sepik region we are so thankful for the provision of the cost of shipping our belongings from the Highlands to the Sepik. God has provided! Our home feels like home and we are almost at the end of unpacking. Our crates arrived on Oct 2nd<\/sup> (Jonathan\u2019s 8 month birthday!) and after a little over a month we just have a few pictures and curtains left to hang before we can officially say that we are done unpacking. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n And more news here at the support center\u2026 today our new generator is hooked up and working very well! We are so thankful for the team that came over to help install the generator. And so thankful for Friends in Action who were also a huge help in bringing the team over and helping with the whole project! Now, when the town power goes out, which is quite often, the generator will automatically kick on. \ud83d\ude42 Now we will feel like we are living in the land of luxury with fans and electricity all the time!<\/p>\n And even more incredible news here in the Sepik region\u2026.the Yembi Yembi now have the New Testament in their own language! Brooks and Nina Buser along with Tim and Courtney Shontere have been working in the Yembi Yembi tribe for many years. The Busers were actually in Beth\u2019s class at the NTM Language school in Camdenton, MO. So it is quite exciting for us to be here to celebrate the fact that another group of people now have the Bible in their own language! After our time at home, browsing Christian bookstores full of hundreds of English versions of the Bible, we are thrilled to know that the Yembi Yembi now have at least one version of the Bible in their own language!<\/p>\n Praises!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our crates arrived safe and sound on Oct 2nd<\/sup>!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God has provided all the funds needed to cover the costs of our belongings via plane, truck and ship!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God sent over a team of guys to install the new generator for the center!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Friends in Action\u2019s huge involvement in the generator project!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nate and Troy, intern guys, who have been a big help for the generator project!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jonathan is doing much better after a couple months of two types of tummy issues.<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jonathan is now 9 months old and crawling all over the house, and pulling himself up to a standing position!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Beth has the opportunity to help out in the Business office a few hours a week!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God\u2019s continued provision for our needs moment by moment!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God\u2019s provisions for us as we continue to adjust to a growing little one in the house!<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Celebrating 4 years of marriage \u2013 provision for a relaxing lunch and swim at a local restaurant! (Jonathan loved the pool!)<\/p>\n Prayer:<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wisdom and guidance as we continue to learn to take care of Jonathan.<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Continue to adjust to new life and ministries.<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Beth balancing life at home with work in the Business office.<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pray that God would raise our support level to the amount needed for a family with one child.<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Smooth and fast process for Jonathan\u2019s Canadian citizenship.<\/p>\n –\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to focus on God daily and rely on His infused strength.<\/p>\n Thank you all for praying!!
