We have been thinking and praying a lot about our kids schooling recently. We have really enjoyed Dakar Academy and so have our children. They enjoy their classmates and teachers for the most part. As we have met with their teachers on various occasions we are so impressed with their care for our kids and the amazing job they do in teaching them. They teach them not only academics but character training and about God too. Caleb and Hope’s teachers do such a good job with training them on how to react to situations calmly and appropriately. Grace has a teacher that she meets with weekly just to talk about life. There is a counselor that is there to help whenever needed and even the school nurse has helped with various physical to emotional needs that our kids have had.
There are many after school activities as well, from sports to theater. We don’t do after school activities that often because it takes about 2 hrs travel time for us to go get them after they are done. Yet, Caleb and Grace have been able to be involved in the school plays and have enjoyed them. Grace really enjoys going to youth group on Thursday evenings as well.
We are very grateful for this school and all they are doing for our kids but the cost for this school will be doubling for us next year. In previous years, the school was subsidized by our mission but next school year there will not be any funds available to help subsidize the kids schooling. Thus, we are looking for more partners to help us with schooling costs. We have prayerfully considered other, cheaper options, such as homeschooling and French schools but we do not see them meeting the needs of our kids well. Would you consider talking to friends, family and church about this need to help us raise the needed funds for our kids schooling? If you are interested, please click on the GIVE tab to give toward our ministry and our kids schooling.
Thank you!
