We were overwhelmed as they came in two by two. The unison of the march was impressive. Their number was considerable as the sea of black, grey, and red all moved as one. Almost eighty students from different walks of life had begun a journey and now one part of it was ending. They had reached this goal together and because their paths take them in different directions from here many will never see each other again. They will scatter to all parts of not only the states, but the world, continuing to teach that which they were taught. Who are these eighty students? The NTBI Waukesha graduating class of 2010!
It has been exciting to see and hear how God is going to use these graduates for His service! Half of them are headed into full-time foreign missionary service with New Tribes Mission. There are many who will be going back to their home churches and serving in local ministries. Some are looking into opportunities in teaching, working in orphanages in foreign countries; and others are even going on for further college training or working towards that.
Graduation held special meaning to us as one of those graduates marched down the aisle. It has been a blessing to be here this last year to see the growth in this young man’s life. We have watched him juggle an academic load while weekly working close to and sometimes over full-time hours in his outside job; and to do so without complaining. He, our son Matthew, has finished well. He will be staying in WI to work while he saves for further education in linguistics.
It has been a privilege serving the Lord and YOU here at NTBI Waukesha. This is definitely a team job and we so appreciate your part in it. When you pray for us, pray for these students – the graduates of 2010 – that God would remain first in their lives and that they would seek Him in all things.
