These are called\u00a0<em>mikro<\/em>, a common form of public transportation. You might not appreciate these blue vans for their tendency to drive slowly in the middle of the road and pull over unexpectedly to pick up passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/screenshot_20210725-190133_video-player.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/screenshot_20210725-190133_video-player.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1183\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019d learn to consider the weather before driving through certain parts of the city. And&nbsp;<em>always&nbsp;<\/em>carry an umbrella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/screenshot_20210725-185919_video-player.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/screenshot_20210725-185919_video-player.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1185\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">PC: E. Peck<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019d learn which traffic signs can be safely ignored and which ones should be respected. Parking in certain areas can get your tires flattened by the traffic police (but don\u2019t worry because there\u2019s always a blue van nearby to pick you up).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/20210210_191107.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/20210210_191107.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1188\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">One last little surprise at the end of a very long day\u2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019d also find that small vehicles may not be super comfy (especially when you\u2019re bringing the four kids along for a weekly shopping trip\u2026and Gabriel might sit with the groceries in the back and eat up all the snacks), but they sure do maneuver nicely on narrow, crowded streets. We were blessed to be able to borrow this cute little thing for our first several months:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/img-20210404-wa0028.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thekresges.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/07\/img-20210404-wa0028.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1190\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our 7-day blogging challenge will soon draw to a close, and now is a good time to say \u201cthank you.\u201d Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for giving to us. Thank you for communicating with us. You know who you are, and the part each of you plays is irreplaceable. Hardly a day goes by that we don\u2019t long to see many of you face-to-face, to introduce you to our life here and the ministry God has so graciously allowed us to be a part of. We hope these days of public journaling have at least given you a glimpse into the adventure we are living and perhaps a twinge of longing to visit these beautiful tropics. Consider it an open invitation.
