Many of you have been praying for God’s leading for our church planting team here in PNG. Two of our three families (the Hambrice’s and Sanders) have been here since January learning the national culture and language and our third family (the Crabtree’s) just arrived in country to begin the same process. We are in the thick of asking God to show us which specific language group He would have us go to live with and minister to for the next 10-20 years. We feel as a team that God is narrowing it down to one that means that a trip for the men on our team to go out and survey is in the near future. These are such exciting times for us!
A part of our survey work is to go and visit all of the language groups that surround this particular group who have already had missionaries move in, learn their tribal language, translate the Bible, teach the Bible, and teach them how to read and write their own tribal language. BJ Sanders and I just got to visit one of those people groups named Aziana.
The goal of our trip was to get to know the tribal church and to let them know of our plans to go and work with the people on the other side of the mountain. They could not have been more thrilled and told us that they have been praying for years for these people. We will be partnering with the Azianan church in the future if the Lord continues to lead us in this direction. They will be a constant source of encouragement to us and the future believers of the place we hope to go.
Thank you for praying for our trip and please continue that God would continue to lead us during this exciting time.
