School kicked off for us last week and it started off with a challenge to let our roots settle down deep into the Lord while we are here in the training. The challenge was not to think that our missionary training here will be what keeps us on the field or allows us to have a successful ministry. It is God and Him alone. He is the one who is sufficient for all that we will face. We are glad to be here and learn all that we are learning, but it was good to be reminded that all of it is for nothing if we are not grounded in our relationship with Christ and depending on Him.

We are starting the semester with two classes: Missionary Technology, and Romans 5-8. In the Missionary Tech class we are learning about everything from how to set up and run things from solar electric panels to water filtration systems. These things will allow us to live in a tribal village that doesn’t have the conveniences of modern life. In the Romans 5-8 class we are having to take turns explaining concepts from these chapters about the Christian life as if we were speaking to 4th graders. It is easy for us to have Biblical knowledge, but how good is it if we aren’t able to explain it in a way people can understand it? We hope to blog more specifically about these two classes pretty soon!

Paisley is doing great! She is struggling a bit with Mommy and Daddy leaving her in childcare everyday. It has gotten better each day and she seems to be adjusting just fine. She loves her new teacher Mrs. Sonja!

The cove that our campus is on!

Paisley on her first day of school with her new shoes on!

What a privilege it is to sit with several hundred people who have all answered the call to leave who and what they know and follow the Lord to go and preach the gospel to those who have yet to hear it!
