Mandy and I just recently finished a class called “Dobu.” \u00a0The word Dobu comes from the name of an island off the coast of Papua New Guinea. This class was a simulation of what it would be like during the first two years if our family were to move there to church plant among those people.<\/p>\n

Several days a week we would enter into the “Dobu Village” where we would have an opportunity to build relationships with the people, have langauge learning sessions with our language helper “Mwedi,” see cultural events played out, and try to get to the hearts of the people to see what they truly believed about all things and what they were trusting and found security in.<\/p>\n

Even though this was just a simulation, it was more real than we could have imagined. Our hearts broke as we came to know these people and began to realize what life is like for most tribal people in the world. In the next few weeks we will be in a class called Curriculum Development where we will be developing Bible lessons to teach to the Dobu people based on what we learned about them and what they believe.<\/p>\n

We are so grateful for how our God is preparing us to carry His good news to those who have yet to hear and what He is allowing us to experience. Thank you so much for partnering with us!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
