\"\"<\/a>My friend jill and I had the great opportunity to go to the Market with couple of sweet national ladies, Barbra and Rose Marie .\u00a0 They were so nice to take us and show us the ropes.\u00a0 The market is where all of the nationals come and sell the food that they have harvested from there garden. It is a great way to learn PNG culture.\u00a0 All the people sit on the ground with all of their produce in small bundles that you can buy. It is generally much cheaper to buy food at the market than to go to a store in town.\u00a0 Men, women, and children gather there.\u00a0 I was able to learn about all the different types of produce and after that we went back to Barbra\u2019s home and cooked all of our food that we bought over the fire. \u00a0It is absolutely incredible to watch these dear ladies in their comfort zone carving out coconuts and pealing and chopping veggies.\u00a0 I have never seen women who could handle a knife so well! \u00a0I have so much to learn from these precious ladies. Although Jill and I were very nervous to eat it, we bit the bullet and did it anyway. It was away for us to show love to them.\u00a0 You could tell they were very pleased that we joined them for a meal in their context.\u00a0 We had a great time and learned a ton.\u00a0 Here are a few pics of our trip to the market and then back to Barbras to cook!<\/p>\n
