God provided an amazing weekend for our teens while the adults were gathered for their annual get togetgher at the Islands Region supply center! A team of men came from the U.S. to teach, sing, play and encourage the group. With the theme of “Rescued” each was challenged to live out their faith as a testimony of the new life they have in Christ. Here are some of the highlights from the teens about this amazing weekend.
“The Challenge: Can teens at a forgotten mission center make a difference? Can God use you?
You betcha! God isn’t looking for the “qualified” to serve him. He never said you’ve got to be this old, and you have to have this quality and that. No, he is looking for those who will follow Him; leave their comfort zone and step out and follow our shepherd. He is faithful to lead us, but we must choose first to go.
Can we make a difference in our community? Today we live as a community that can be isolated by the busyness of our world. It can be easy to forget about the needs around us and just go on with our lives unaware.
This weekend the teens were challenged to step beyond their own comfort zone. To take risks in many ways to follow after a God who has a mission for us.
Will we follow him, or will we tell Him the terms of our service?”
