happy iguana month

February 21, 2013 by Jerry and Joyce McDaniels

iguanaA very happy “Iguana Month” to you! That is February in Kuna-land. This month the Kuna literacy teaching teams in Panama are beginning their classes.

Recently we received word from Hernan, the Kuna brother who is coordinating the literacy effort that he has been training literacy teachers from several more Kuna communities who didn’t participate in the workshop last November.

Let’s keep praying for the teachers, students and Hernan as he organizes the literacy classes. How we would love to sit in the corner of each class and watch the progress!

In the last several weeks we have completed some huge projects including the Kuna Old Testament topical index. We traveled out to Missouri where the US missionary candidate training center is located. We had such a great time working with the literacy team there to see that the literacy training the candidates are given is up-to-date with input from the mission fields.

In March we will be going to England for the same purpose. Our literacy team is top-notch and we are so thankful for all the great people we work with!
