4 more weeks & 4 more languages!
Greetings from the Philippines. We are more than half done with our around-the-world trip and praising God for His faithfulness every step of the way.
We spent a month in Senegal where we held a literacy workshop for the field and then worked with 3 languages, writing literacy curriculum so that people would be able to learn to read the Bible translated into their languages. One of these languages was that particularly difficult tonal language we’ve been asking you to pray with us about. Well, God gave wisdom and the materials came out very well. We were able to make nice, strong drills in the syllable charts that contrasted and clarified the tones.
Then we traveled to the country of Burkina Faso, still in West Africa. We had a really special time with the missionary teams there and held another literacy workshop. It’s so exciting to see these teams of young people, learning languages and preparing to be used to bring God’s Message to these difficult locations.
Leaving Africa, we realized how very tired we were! Several days resting here in the mission guesthouse in Manila has been just what we needed. Tomorrow (Friday) we fly to another island here in the Philippines where we will work this final month of the trip. Beginning Monday morning we will be writing literacy materials again in 4 more languages. So please continue to pray for us to have wisdom, stamina and be a real help to these teams!
