Update on Asia-Pacific trip
Thanks for covering us with prayers during the trip to Asia-Pacific. The 3 literacy workshops went well and we are confident the consultant team there is trained and equipped to move the field into the future. Our goal was to produce literacy materials in three languages, but we completed them for four languages. God is so good!
Great news on Jerry’s medical tests!
We have not stopped rejoicing at the good news from Jerry’s medical tests. No cancer! A small problem that is causing his symptoms was found.
“God’s Word speaking to me”
We recently attended the memorial service for our dear friend and coworker Keith Forster. It was a beautiful service honoring the Lord that Keith loved and served. It was special to have a few minutes to talk with some Kuna friends who came up from Panama for the service.
Loida, the lady standing next to Joyce, grabbed Joyce’s hands and said, “Thank you for teaching me to read. Otherwise that Book (pointing to the Bible that Keith had worked with her husband to translate) would just be a book sitting on my table. But because I can read, it’s God’s Word speaking to me.” That pretty much sums up what we are investing our lives in!
The past few weeks we’ve done literacy training here at our house with those that are translating the literacy software into Spanish and French.
