But the truth is, the real adventure starts long before the airport. Hidden behind every workshop are dozens of unseen steps\u2014emails, planning sessions, consultant training, and problem\u2011solving\u2014that quietly pave the way for the work you <em>do<\/em> see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each workshop is a training ground for literacy consultants. Our goal isn\u2019t simply to travel the world writing curriculum. It\u2019s to equip local consultants who can one day lead this work in their own countries, in the different languages there, and train others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before, during, and after each workshop, these new consultants take on more and more responsibility. At first, they observe. Then they assist. Eventually, they begin guiding teams through the process themselves. We stay close\u2014answering questions, reviewing drafts, helping troubleshoot\u2014but the long\u2011term vision is clear: <strong>sustainable, locally led literacy work.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that kind of growth doesn\u2019t happen by accident. It takes hours of correspondence, coaching, reviewing materials, and cheering them on as they step into new roles.
