After being in town for a month so Jevon and I could get a series of rabies vaccines – just a standard precaution after the tapir bites – we are so glad to be heading back to the tribe! We are super thankful to God for the new NTM plane based here in town, and for the ASAS (MAF) pilot who flew in on a commercial flight last night just to be able to fly us back home today. This guy is crazy busy (as are all the missionary pilots around here!) and we know it was a sacrifice for him to squeeze in an extra day of travel besides the day of flying for us. These guys are amazing – making sacrifices with pleasure day after day. If you know any missionary pilots, be sure to thank them for their part in God’s mighty work in the world!
In spite of this unexpected month out of the tribe, we still have to stick with our previous plan to come to town in January. We have to take care of Larissa’s documents and also take part in the mission conference and a special workshop that all church planting teams have been asked to participate in. So we will only be able to stay in the tribe for one month this time. Please pray that we will be able to maximize every opportunity during this short time to be involved in people’s lives and to fill up our heads and hearts and ears and mouths with culture and language.
It is most likely that we will be walking out by trail in January.
We are so thankful for your prayers and partnership!
Love from the Rich family,
danica
