For those of you who know Danica’s brother Amos, here is a picture of him and his beautiful bride, Cymbre.<\/p>\n

We’ve been home for three weeks, now, and life is back to normal:\u00a0 the kids are catching lizards and whatever other critters they can find while Jevon and I study away at Portuguese.<\/p>\n

With so many of our Brazilian friends gone traveling for school break during this month of July, we are focusing more time and energy into reviewing, processing, and analyzing language.\u00a0 Here, Jevon is listening to part of a sermon in Portuguese and transcribing it.\u00a0 After that he will mark it all up with notes about verb forms and other parts of speech.\u00a0 In this kind of work what we are doing is aggressively listening<\/strong> – taking note of the FORM people choose to use to communicate the MEANING they want to communicate.<\/p>\n
