Partnership Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

What a joy to join hands in partnership with people who believe that God wants them to be a part of tribal missions in Brazil through their prayers and financial support of our ministry!\u00a0 We now have 47% of the recommended support for our family.\u00a0 This is up from 24% that we had end of December.\u00a0 You can see that God is doing something!\u00a0 And we count ourselves blessed to be looking for financial partnership now, with the economy already in a ditch – because we don’t figure the people jumping on board are fair weather partners!\u00a0 They are sacrificing to do what they are doing.\u00a0 Thank you God, and thank you to all of you who are a part of this.<\/p>\n

Missions Awareness<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is so neat for me, Danica, to watch people be challenged as Jevon speaks about tribal church planting.\u00a0 He has had opportunities to share in 6 churches these past two months on Sunday mornings, as well as sharing his presentation in many more intimate settings.\u00a0 Some of the people in these audiences seem to have had little or no exposure to tribal missions previously.\u00a0 Because of his experience growing up with an indigenous people group in the jungle, Jevon has a unique perspective to share as he weaves in first-hand stories with what the Bible has to say about missions.<\/p>\n

We also have gotten to give 3 different groups of kids a taste of missions, here in Oregon.\u00a0 And so the original demonstration we did for our own Salem kids has grown into a full-blown skit – paint, wigs, and all!\u00a0 Kids are so fun to talk to, and we ourselves are reminded why we do what we do when we put it into visuals and concrete terminology for kids.\u00a0 We couldn’t give away the whole thing in an e-mail but Jevon picked some clips, pasted them together, and put them here for you:\u00a0 (four minutes, eleven seconds)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marriage and Family<\/strong><\/p>\n

This weekend, Danica’s mom met us at a hotel in Sunriver, OR, and took care of the kids there for the weekend so that we could focus in on the most foundational relationships to our life, family, and ministry:\u00a0 our relationship with God, and our relationship with each other.\u00a0 We attended the Weekend to Remember Marriage Conference by FamilyLife.\u00a0 Our prayer going into it was that God would shed some light on some blind spots or things in our marriage that we should be working on right now.\u00a0 That is what He did.\u00a0 We also had a very special time together, putting other things aside and remembering what we appreciate most about each other and all the reasons we got married in the first place!\u00a0 Now our prayer is that we will each be empowered to apply the things God taught us build each other up and strengthen our relationship.\u00a0 As Cali called from the backseat on the way home, “Mommy, are you going to be better to your husband because of you listened to a marriage conference?”\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 Well, thank you God for accountability!
\nAnd thank you FamilyLife, Dan and Christi Gaffney, Dave and Judy Lund, Mom, and Sam for giving us a weekend to grow closer to each other.<\/p>\n

Have we Lost you Forever?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We got a call from one of the families we LOVE in Wisconsin this week.\u00a0 I believe the question was, “when are you coming back, or have we lost you forever?”\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 Well, it does seem like God is brining our time here in Oregon to a close soon.\u00a0 After two more weeks here, we will pack up the van and start inching our way south along the Oregon Coast and down through California, visiting some supporters, and hopefully gaining some new ones on the way.\u00a0 Our last stop is some of Jevon’s cousins WAY down at the bottom of California.\u00a0 Then we plan to come home to our sending church in Wisconsin.\u00a0 So its looking like we may get back before the end of April.\u00a0 But we hold all of our plans very loosely these days, just in case God decides to change them.\u00a0 We don’t want to miss opportunities.<\/p>\n
