{"id":8,"date":"2010-01-19T20:25:24","date_gmt":"2010-01-20T02:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jevon-rich\/?p=8"},"modified":"2010-01-19T20:25:24","modified_gmt":"2010-01-20T02:25:24","slug":"8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jevon-rich\/2010\/01\/19\/8\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HI!\u00a0 This blog is still under construction.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry, there will be pictures as soon as we figure out what we are doing here.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime&#8230;what is going on with the Rich family?<\/p>\n<p>We had a <em>very<\/em> smooth trip <strong>back to New Tribes&#8217; Missionary Training Center in Missouri<\/strong>.\u00a0 Cali and Karina were very well-composed for most of the 12 hours en route, which is a God-thing, because on a typical 30 minute car ride they are not well-composed.\u00a0 And since the trip was uneventful, I have no stories to tell of it.\u00a0 But that&#8217;s an answer to prayer.\u00a0 Thank you all who prayed, and thanks a <em>heap<\/em> to you who got up at 2 am to pray for us as we got up and hit the road.\u00a0 You are crazy&#8230;and we are grateful to you.<\/p>\n<p>Our hearts are refreshed and our zeal is renewed from the time with our family and church family in Wisconsin.\u00a0 You have reminded us <strong>why we are here<\/strong> in training for tribal missions: because of the all-surpassing value of God.\u00a0 Because He is worthy of the worship of the nations.\u00a0 Because God is so good that <em>everyone<\/em>, to the last tribesman living in the last corner of the earth, should have the opportunity to worship Him.\u00a0 Thank you, fellow &#8220;Salemites&#8221;, for being our friends and co-workers and family, and for, by your passion for God, renewing our vision.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as we got here we moved to a <strong>new apartment<\/strong>, which is already proving to be a big blessing.\u00a0 It actually takes less time for us to get ready for class in the morning, because we have more space, so we don&#8217;t have to dig or climb to find the oatmeal or pots or anything else that we need for breakfast.\u00a0 Cali and Karina are enthralled with the bathtub and I am delighted with the washing machine.\u00a0 Jevon likes his desk, and the big window and quiet space that make it a good place to study.\u00a0 I like the kitchen too.\u00a0 I really really like the kitchen.\u00a0 It makes me want to serve you dinner.\u00a0 I wish you could come over here and eat with us, and we could talk about God&#8217;s goodness over a warm bowl of stew.<\/p>\n<p>A nurse is here on campus, teaching us a class on <strong>International Health and Wellness.<\/strong> Rumor has it that she will demonstrate how to put in a stomach tube, and also that we will have hands-on practice learning how to give someone a shot.\u00a0 In the meantime, we are scrambling our brains to keep up with everything we are learning from her lectures.\u00a0 There is a dual emphasis on keeping ourselves well while we are overseas, and on helping the tribal people we will be serving.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what is happening with this family; we&#8217;d love to hear from yours.\u00a0 What is God doing in Eau Claire?\u00a0 In Long Creek?\u00a0 In Monroe?\u00a0 Or Sanford?\u00a0 At your work?\u00a0 At your school?\u00a0 In your home?\u00a0 In your heart?\u00a0 We will praise God with you and pray for you.<\/p>\n<p>Love from the Rich family-<\/p>\n<p>Jevon, Danica, Cali, and Karina<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HI!\u00a0 This blog is still under construction.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry, there will be pictures as soon as we figure out what we are doing here.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 In the meantime&#8230;what is going on with the Rich family?
