Burdett April Bulletin

May 9, 2010 by James and Judy Burdett

Greetings from our minivan! We have

traveled over 6,000 miles since we left California

in February. We have had some meetings,

a missionary conference, and have visited many

friends and family. Indeed, we are enjoying our

time and praise the Lord for safety as it seems

that each furlough we notice how much worse

the driving is out there on the road. Please pray

for continued traveling safety on the roads and for more good

meetings.

We have not heard any news from the Dom. Please continue

to pray for the Dom church. Some of our colleagues will be

going to the Dom soon to pay our security guys and take dog food.

Hopefully we will hear something soon.

Recently someone broke into Mom and Dad’s house in Lae

early in the morning and took their four laptops, DVD player, wallets

and I am not sure what else. We praise the Lord that they

weren’t hurt, but they are trying to get the revision of the Hamtai

New Testament finished so that they can retire.and this is another

setback for them. They have borrowed a few laptops and bought

one so they are trying to get set up again. The security dog did bite

the nose of the thief so this week when he is supposed to come

into the hospital for additional help, a plain clothed policeman will

be there.

Our plans are to continue traveling until early August. God

willing, we will return to Papua New Guinea by the end of August or

early September. Sometime before then we need to apply for our

Visa which is expired, but are waiting for word from PNG as to

when we can apply.

Both Heather and Brian have gotten jobs so we are thankful.

Pray for Heather as her workload with school, work and other

things is hard for her. She is wanting to be a Bio-Chem major to

later become a doctor. Pray that Ilai can get a job. He has made it

through one year of his 10 years of probation. He also needs a

new place to live. Darren would like some additional work. He still

is wanting to go to seminary in August in Louisville, Kentucky.

Please pray with us for direction for each of them.

Thank you so, so much for your prayers and support. God

is good!

Love,

Jim and Judy Burdett
