{"id":362,"date":"2014-10-16T09:58:35","date_gmt":"2014-10-16T13:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jim-burdett\/?p=362"},"modified":"2014-10-16T10:06:37","modified_gmt":"2014-10-16T14:06:37","slug":"october-travels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jim-burdett\/2014\/10\/16\/october-travels\/","title":{"rendered":"October Travels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you for praying for our time at Sanford, FL. \u00a0We were there the month of September. \u00a0We saw many friends, visited often with Judy&#8217;s parents who are at NTM Homes and Jim&#8217;s brother who is in the area. \u00a0In between visiting we spent many hours reading through the Dom New Testament checking for mistakes. \u00a0We were still vacillating \u00a0regarding some of the way we wanted to spell some words. \u00a0But we believe we got that settled. \u00a0We have at least one more read through but ran out of time so will have to continue that when we return to California on November 11. \u00a0We still have some decisions to make regarding printing so would appreciate prayer regarding that.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_365\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-365\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jim-burdett\/files\/2014\/10\/Dom-NT-prep-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-365\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jim-burdett\/files\/2014\/10\/Dom-NT-prep-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"John 4 Sample of Dom NT page\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jim-burdett\/files\/2014\/10\/Dom-NT-prep-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jim-burdett\/files\/2014\/10\/Dom-NT-prep-2-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jim-burdett\/files\/2014\/10\/Dom-NT-prep-2.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-365\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">John 4 Sample of Dom NT page<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We left September 30th to continue our travels. \u00a0We \u00a0spent some time with Jim&#8217;s three sisters and his dad in Chattanooga. \u00a0Always hard to leave family. \u00a0We have seen a number of friends\u00a0 and\u00a0had our van worked on by Righteous Rides since we were in the St. Louis area for several days. \u00a0We got to spend a few hours with Judy&#8217;s niece, Katie Palmer at Asbury College. \u00a0A treat was that Darren was visiting his girlfriend in Louisville so they drove to Lexington to meet us for supper and then my brother Joel and Ruthi Palmer showed up briefly before we had to say goodbye. \u00a0But the next day it worked out again for Darren, Katie and us to get with Joel, Ruthi and Katie Palmer for a few hours over lunch. \u00a0This unexpected visit was a treat. \u00a0We also got to spend time with our hosts who are interested in missions, attending the Southern Theological Seminary there. \u00a0Katie Duffy, Darren&#8217;s girlfriend, is also attending there and Darren is soon to move there, though he has been taking classes already online.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to seeing the rest of those on our scheduled stops and getting back to California and getting settled and into a routine.<\/p>\n<p>Word from the Dom is that Gena continues to teach at Buala Maule and one Sunday a month\u00a0at Iraulabol. \u00a0Gerolf teaches on one Sunday a month, and then our two trainees, Martin and Bapka, the other two Sundays. \u00a0The men and women have been busy building sleeping quarters, toilets, and a cook house for the up coming area women&#8217;s conference in November that the Iraulabol women are hosting this year. \u00a0Please pray that it would not be a rainy time.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you so much for your prayers as we have traveled these many miles and continue to travel many more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you for praying for our time at Sanford, FL. \u00a0We were there the month of September. \u00a0We saw many friends, visited often with Judy&#8217;s parents who are at NTM Homes and Jim&#8217;s brother who is in the area. \u00a0In between visiting we spent many hours reading through the Dom New Testament checking for mistakes.
