August 2015, #89<\/strong><\/p>\n

What a year 2015 has been so far. We praise the Lord for His goodness, faithfulness and mercy. Here are the highlights.<\/p>\n

March & April<\/strong> – We traveled to the Northwest to spend time and reconnect with many friends and family we hadn’t seen in nearly five years. We thank God for that opportunity and we trust the blessing was mutual for all.<\/p>\n

April<\/strong>– The first copies of the Dom New Testaments were printed. Woo hoo!<\/p>\n

May <\/strong>– Through the generosity of friends we were able to fly to (Up State) New York and spent a week with our oldest, Ilai, as he came out of prison on parole. It was an emotional reunion in every way. Sadly he didn\u2019t last on parole and is back in prison for the remainder of his sentence. He will be out again next year in September. Your continued prayer for him is\u00a0appreciated.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>\"Jim<\/a><\/p>\n

June <\/strong>– The copies of the printed Dom New Testament were taken to Papua New Guinea by a Mission colleague and friend. Thank you, Janie!<\/p>\n

Also in June we celebrated the first Palmer family Reunion since 1987. It was a great week of fun (even if it was 1150 <\/sup>outside at the time!).<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>July 10th<\/strong> – Two of our Mission colleagues and friends took the Dom New Testaments up to the Dom Christians and hand delivered them. May the Lord richly bless the reading of His Word among the Dom believers!<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>August 1st <\/strong>– Last but not least we celebrated the marriage of our son Darren to Katie Duffy. We could not be happier for them. It was a beautiful wedding that honored the Lord in every way. PTL that his brother Brian was able to attend as a groomsman!<\/p>\n

Plans for the future <\/strong>– The rest of August is going to be very busy sorting, packing, shipping, storing and cleaning. Plus a short trip to Tucson, AZ (7 hours away) to visit long time friends. On September 10th we leave California and head out for one last road trip to see what family we can before we return our van to Righteous Rides in Missouri and fly out of Saint Louis for PNG on October 3rd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We may not get to write again until we are back in PNG in October.\u00a0 So would appreciate prayer for us as we leave our family behind.\u00a0 It never gets easier.<\/p>\n

Prayer requests<\/strong><\/p>\n

For good health, strength and stamina in our lives and ministry as we grow older<\/p>\n

For our grown children and grandchildren for their spiritual and physical needs<\/p>\n

For our coworkers, Gerolf and Mailis Wuest as they adjust to a new baby and make plans to return to the field and join again in the Dom<\/p>\n

For the Dom believers that they would read their New Testaments faithfully and grow from it.<\/p>\n

For our financial situation which has taken a hit of late. These last two months the short fall has made it difficult to meet those challenges as we prepare to return to the field.<\/p>\n

It has been a great 15 months being Stateside and has gone by way too fast.\u00a0 Thank you so much for your prayer, support, and friendship.\u00a0 We are grateful for all that was accomplished this time home (chiropractors, doctor visits, getting the Dom New Testament ready to print, printed, visiting many of you, etc.).<\/p>\n
