We are already at the end of April of what was once the New Year. So much to share with you starting with the wonderful news that our coworkers, Gerolf and Mailis Wuest are back from their Home Assignment together with their two boys, Richard (3) and Christian (9 months). Not having seen each other for two years it has been a great reunion. We have gotten reacquainted with Richard and had the joy of meeting little Christian for the first time.

Gerolf & Mailis Wuest

Gerolf has been working hard at learning the Dom language since their return and making very good progress. We now have more than enough power for our home and ministry without running the generator every day. This is timely since our generator is out of commission until we can find a replacement air filter. This is a dream of many years come true and we want to thank all God’s people who helped to make this happen. The last item to arrive is our 12 volt fridge which is on its way but won’t arrive until July.

The drought and food shortage is definitely over now. Sweet potatoes are being harvested in such abundance that we see lots of them sold in the local village market as well being eaten at home. Once again thank you all, God’s people, for the generous financial aid that allowed us to buy and distribute rice to our people during the food crisis. Indeed without that rice many would have starved.

August 26 is the date set for the Dom New Testament Dedication. The churches are working well together to come up with the program. Pray for the finances for the food, gifts for the speakers and visitors, etc. Pray that it will be an honoring time to God.

As we have said, the printing of the Dom NT was a preliminary printing. Jim and Gena have started together going over the notes that both have made in reading through it. At some point, Kapia Joseph will come with his comments after having read through the whole New Testament. They will not make it in time for the final printing before the dedication.

With the dedication coming up, the church here needs to rebuild the current building. It was damaged during the land slip that happened six years ago, the one that affected our house. Termites have been eating away at the soft pinewood and other damage continues so we would like to get it rebuilt before the dedication. There is a difference of opinion regarding the financing of it so please pray that this will not be a way for Satan to interfere.

It is exciting to see the continuation of the teaching among the two new groups of believers. Right now Gena and Martin are the ones continuing with the teaching. At one of our newer outreaches a new group has started the Creation through Life of Christ teaching. There has been keen interest in the teaching by some pastors of another group so they have approached Gena about teaching them. They are actually a different language group than ours, but understand Dom. So please be praying about this as they soon begin to teach in this new location. They are going to stay there and try to teach 5 sessions a day. This will be Martin and Gena from here and Kum and Kapia Joseph from our original church.

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
