Ice Storm in the Ozarks

January 19, 2007 by

Icy Morning

It was a week ago today that the storm started, and it came in 3 waves.

Each wave added to the one before, with the last punch Sunday night, which is when we lost power.  Our men were scrambling to do everything they could, all the while fighting the elements.  They did a magnificent job, and we can’t thank them enough.

The branch that took out the power

Power came back on 27 hours later, and we thank God that it wasn’t any longer.   Many more folks in the surrounding areas are faring far worse than we, for they are stll without water or electric.

Classes have been postponed for a week as we get back in operation, and our students are able to drive the roads.
