This week-end I went to see some great waterfalls here in Asia Pacific with some friends. While I was slipping over slimy rocks and dodging monkeys in typical “graceful” fashion on this wonderful adventure, my friends pointed out to me the other aspects of this waterfall. There were flowers left behind from the sacrifice given as part of local tradition and belief to the waterfall. The monkeys that were swinging from the trees and naughtily stealing peoples flip-flops were believed to really be the souls of people being punished for deals they had not kept to the god of the waterfall. Which made me think? In what aspects of my life am I being confused about real truth. I was reminded of 1 Chronciles 16:28, “O nations of the world, RECOGNIZE THE LORD, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong!”
