The Nagi love their “musik”. It is the name for the little home-made guitars. The one or two strings are strummed incessantly to create ‘wonderful’ music. 🙂 While it is a little painful to the ears of those who have some musical skills…the rest of us manage to enjoy the sound of musik being played. Can you guess who in the village doesn’t have the green thumbs? 🙂 It is pineapple season here and I’m glad that people share their pineapples…since the ones we have grown are the ‘bite size’ variety. 🙂 I much prefer the gargantuan variety. Ha!
“Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his, we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.” Psalm 100:3 Nagi women go into individual birthing huts like this one to deliver their babies. Because of their fears and superstitions, mothers will spend up to a month in […]

Dirimor is our newest friend aka “pet” lizard. To make his day we just toss him a few grasshoppers to munch on. He’s also a great swimmer. Dirimor means “huge” or “super big.” This is in hopes he will live up to his namesake and became a Goliath of a lizard.
Food? Infectious disease? Or how about a translation term meaning “Back To English.” You may have heard me mention that one of the things I work on are BTE’s. What exactly am I doing you try to imagine???? I really just mean that I’m reading what has been written in Nagi and then writing out […]
One of God’s greatest creations has to be the “original” jungle juice! More commonly known as sugarcane! After a jaunt thru the jungle or an attempt at making things like banana trees grow in our yard….there’s nothing quite like a little sugarcane juice to help ya bounce back! Granted, it takes a certain amount of […]
