…Packing (and unpacking)

June 12, 2009 by

One of the great things about a short term missions trip is that one has a lot of excess baggage allowance. 100 pounds is a lot of weight to fill even for the most ardent of packers. This allows the opportunity for the short term missionary to act as a courier for people on the field- especially if those on the field typically have to wait months for overnight packages, and spend lots of money for the privilege of waiting.

Thus, my team of two to PNG this summer will be carrying a few items along for the benefit of many on the New Guinea field. First, we have a few homeschooling texts for one family- as well as a few other more fun personal items one cannot find in foreign lands. Secondly, there are a few more technical items for a Bible translation project, mainly a solar panel, inverter, and computer.

So, please pray for us as we head over with these precious items- that they will arrive at the same time and in the same location as we do, and that they would arrive intact and complete.
