A Brief Summer Interlude

August 4, 2016 by Joe Evans

It is hard to believe that summer is almost over.  I have been blessed with the opportunity to return to the USA for the summer- the months of June, July, and August.  Partly this is a time to relax and catch up with friends and family, and partly a chance to get some medical issues fixed up.

A few weeks ago, I had outpatient surgery to fix a hernia that has been a concern to my doctors for a few years.  Happily, the operation went well, and everything seems to be healing well.  Please keep praying that the healing continues- I’m not allowed to lift more than 20 pounds for a few more weeks yet.

But my ministry still continues even though I’m away from PNG.  I’m still the PNG Shipping Department, and this has been a busy summer.  Plus, I’m also the PNG Insurance department- we just renewed all the field polices.  And then I’ve been helping out here in Florida at my Church’s benevolence ministry- driving the truck for food pickups, delivering boxes of food to houses, and helping to put the boxes together.

However, it is almost time to head back to the field.  Please keep on praying:

-For a safe return to PNG

-For continued healing

-For wisdom in all my ministries
