Either way, we’re in that time of year where most of our folks are out on home assignments, not yet returned from home assignments, or just out somewhere on vacation. And that means more “hats” for me!
-Shipping Department- I’m still running the shipping department, saying that like it’s not pretty much just me. I’d present a cool set of statistics about how many solar-electric systems and Bible translations we cleared through PNG Customs in the past few months, but sadly, no time for that. Because I’m also the…
-Insurance Department- Yes, I’m also the Insurance department for the NTM PNG field. And just in time for the annual 2015-16 renewal… which we’re right in the middle of at this moment. What with seven centers, two hangers, a score of mission vehicles, and a large number of houses, there’s a lot to keep track of. Not a super exciting ministry, unless we get a wreck or something, and then there’s just a bit of paperwork. However, for excitement, I’m also…
-Field Security Assistant- Or maybe not. Mostly I keep track of news, make sure the paperwork is correct and filed on time, and pass on security related advice. And this kind of works into my membership on the…
-Medevac Team- The healthcare in PNG is not exactly the best, so if something really bad happens, we often have to send people to Australia for medical care. This takes a lot of paperwork, so we work to dot the “i’s” and cross all the “t’s” needed. Lord willing, this is one hat I won’t need to wear all that often, if at all.
But wait, that’s not all- I’m also the guy who does mail runs, helps out with buying items in town, and takes care of the occasional airport run. I’ve also represented the mission at a recent Goroka Chamber of Commerce meeting.
So please keep on praying! Wisdom is really needed for a lot of these “hats”. Pray also for my safety in traveling, and for my health.
-Future plans- I am happy to announce a change in my furlough schedule. Lord willing, I’m now planning on taking a small home assignment every summer during the months of June-August. Of course, these will be ‘working furloughs’, and I’ll again be bringing my “hats” with me.
Thanks once again for your prayers, and for your love and support.
