Greetings from the wet and shaky lands of PNG.<\/p>\n
The 3:30 AM earthquake was rather eye opening, and that\u2019s not something you want at 3:30 AM when you\u2019re trying to sleep.\u00a0 Praise the Lord there was no damage to the house or Center- none of the bottles on the spice rack fell over.\u00a0 However, some places were hit pretty good, so please keep the people of Enga province in your prayers.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the ministry hat juggling continues as usual.\u00a0 Since returning in September, I\u2019ve:<\/p>\n
-Worked on the Customs paperwork for 18 flights<\/p>\n
-Worked on the Customs clearances for 5 containers (including one of teaching materials), 3 smaller shipments (including a few thousand Bibles in the Bisorio language), and three vehicles.<\/p>\n
-Was audited by PNG Customs for a shipment back in 2011<\/p>\n
-Made three trips to Lae<\/p>\n
-Made many trips to Goroka for mail runs.<\/p>\n
-Dodged innumerable potholes, landslides, people, pigs, goats, and other vehicles.\u00a0\u00a0 And safely- Praise the Lord.<\/p>\n
-Made numerous bank payments and other transactions<\/p>\n
-Worked on only one Medevac (thank God)<\/p>\n
-Did some insurance stuff, but that\u2019s dull<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Coming up, we\u2019re looking a busy few months.\u00a0 March and April tend to have a lot going on, with new missionary orientation (I\u2019ve got to teach part of this), Easter, lots of meetings and other training, and another trip to Lae.<\/p>\n
After May, it will be time for my annual Florida summer trip.\u00a0 The usual thing- plan is to volunteer at my Church\u2019s Benevolence Center, while still doing a few of the PNG roles remotely.<\/p>\n
