Kuna Friends in Panama

September 18, 2009 by joe_goodman

Ricardo's WifeMany years ago, Joe took this beautiful photo of our good friend and former neighbor, Ricardo’s wife, who recently died in the remote tribal village.  But we learned of this through an email from Teobaldo, who was just a friendly little toddler when we first moved into the village in 1981!  While Teobaldo was still a boy,  he heard the Bible lessons and trusted Christ as his Savior.  Now he serves the Lord fulltime on the Kuna Old Testament translation team, living in the City area with his wife and children.  Sometimes we even get cell phone calls from Teobaldo, and other Kuna friends!  He let us know that the translation team is on their third complete review of the entire Kuna Old Testament!  And, in the overall revision of the Kuna New Testament, first distributed in 1996, Teobaldo will be working on the Gospel of John.  He’s praying for us, and asks prayer for the village church leaders as they send some believers to live in an upriver village, to be able to teach the Bible lessons there.  Some other believers plan to travel the long distance to the even more remote villages, in order to encourage and fellowship with the Kuna believers there.
