God is at work in Africa

October 16, 2011 by Joel and Andi

As we struggle to make adjustments and get used to life here, it is nice to see how God is already at work.  Today when I was at church I was reminded as to how God is working here and I thought I would share what God is doing.

– A new Believer – Today there was a new man at church.  He introduced himself and shared how a missionary had shared with him about the truth in God’s word and how he came to believe that it was true.  Praise God!  This man continued to share how he has now been rejected by his family and how they do not understand why he would do such a thing.

– A new African Missionary – Part of the reason New Tribes has started connecting missionaries with African host families, is that it allows the missionary a chance to get connected to the church.  Then when the missionary moves out to the village the church becomes a part of the sending this missionary out.  The hope is that eventually the African church will be a part of sending out its own members.  Well last Sunday was the celebration of just that.  An African family was heading out to the southern Senegal be a part of the great commission.  We hope this is only the first of many more to come.

– A world wide church – It has been amazing seeing the church from all over the world here in Senegal.  God has brought people here from many parts of the world to work toward one common Goal.  We heard a report just recently of a meeting that our field leader had with 6 different African pastors.  They talked about how we can better work together to reach the people in Africa who have never heard.  It is so exciting to see how God is connecting people and joining them together in ways that only he can.

Here are pictures our church here!

So is church all in French or is it bilingual? I remember learning to sit through 2+ hour church services that I didn’t understand. I am so glad for your sake that the church has AC.
