It has been almost 2 months since my last post. I had so many good intentions to sit down and write, but the summer just flew by. It is hard to believe that it is at an end! It was a great summer, but one of the busiest we have had.
This summer brought us …
- A 3 week visit from my parents and 2 nephews!
- A week long Literacy Workshop
- A trip to the Casamance to visit 3 different families
- A week in Dakar welcoming 2 new singles to our field.
This past month we have spent less than a week in our house over the whole month. September we don’t have any plans of travel and so the first thing on my agenda is to get caught up on communication. Over the next few weeks expect some posts about our summer adventures. However I wanted to begin with letting you all know that we are alive and doing well. God has been so faithful to us this summer I can’t wait to share with you more about it. There were times when we are stretched, but also times of rich blessing. The richest blessings came from so many who reached out to send things over with my parents. We were able to bring over all the supplies we needed for our kids program and on top of that we were blessed with some special treats from home. We were absolutely overwhelmed with those who reached out and wanted to encourage our hearts in this way. It reminded me of the blessing it is to be part of the family of God and that we are not alone. So let me take this opportunity to thank each one of you who helps us through praying for us, supporting us and looking for ways to encourage our hearts. We wouldn’t be able to do all we do without the amazing team that supports us. So thank you for being on this journey with us!
