Today

November 29, 2018 by Joel and Andi

Today, along with another member of our leadership team, Joel is traveling out to a new people group with whom we would like to work.   We have a team there on the ground who have been making trips out to different villages for the past year and trying to decide where they should locate.   They are now ready to move in and begin the ministry of build relationships and learning language, but they first need the agreement of the elders of the village for this to be possible.

Today they will have a 4-10 hour drive through rivers and roads that probably shouldn’t be called roads.  4 to 10 hours depended on the conditions of the “roads” and the durability of their car.

Like this road

Tonight they will meet with the elders of the village and explain the desire of this team to move in, learn language, translate the Holy scriptures into their language, and teach them what the scriptures say.

Tonight they will ask for hosts from the village who will help guide and direct them as they attempt to learn a new way of life.

Tomorrow they will drive to the “main village” of the people group and talk to the head religious leader there.  They hope to create an ally in the journey ahead.

Each time we go through this process I am reminded of what a God size task this is and how many places there are where things can go completely wrong.  So if you have a moment pray for these meetings and for our men to have wisdom in whatever might come their way today.

You do such a good job keeping your ministry updated. Your blogs help me go along in the trips in my comfortable chair but makes prayer more specific for you. Blessing and fruit from this journey.
