Highlights

June 23, 2022 by Joel and Andi

Just a small glimpse of some of the highlights from this year…

Visits

One of the things we enjoy most about our ministry is visiting people in their context. We get the pleasure of seeing where they live and do ministry. We get to meet the people they love and work closely with day in and day out. We get to hear about the ups and downs of life. We get to try to help and brainstorm possibilities of how to keep pressing on towards the goals they have.

This year we had the pleasure of visiting most of the countries we serve in. We always come away from these trips encouraged with the opportunity to see how God is at work even in the midst of challenges.

I will often sit in on language sessions to give advice and see their progress
This is a literacy class I got to observe
This is a literacy Class I got to observe of kids learning to read and write in their mother tongue
It is always great to visit people
and participate in daily life
This past year we took extra time on our visits to connect and collaborate with many other leaders
Joel even had an opportunity to teach as well

Our Local Church

Another highlight for us the opportunities we get to be involved in our local church. We aren’t always around for this but when we are it is always such a blessing. Over mothers days the women from my church traveled out to a sister church to visit the women there. The trip was quite eventful with a car that broke down multiple times, lunch served at 5 and heat that wanted to knock us all out. But it was so good as always to be together with the women and so them enjoying hanging out despite the hiccups of the day.

It was a great group of women who gathered together
Despite the challenges like our broken down bus
And a late lunch

Our Boys

Our boys school closed a few weeks ago. While the school closing has been very sad for them, this last year at their school was such a blessing. They had the chance to be taught God’s word, make so many friends and enjoy learning about so many different cultures. We are so thankful for the time they had at this school. This next year they will continue with a few teachers at the school for one more year in what might be similar to a homeschooling co-op. We are so thankful for the time they had there.

We have been so blessing by our boys school
And all the great friends they have made there
