It is always important to celebrate the little successes on a long journey. \u00a0Today was a success worth celebrating for us. \u00a0We are now settled in enough to our life and home that we have begun diving into culture with our host family. \u00a0Today was one step on this journey as we learned how to prepare and serve a Senegalese meal. \u00a0We began preparing our meal at 9am and finally ate at 2pm, followed by socializing and tea. \u00a0We then ended the day with our language session. \u00a0After all this we were exhausted, but also felt like we had a lot to celebrate.<\/p>\n

We spent an entire day in French<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
I successfully cooked a Senegalese meal<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
With a lot of help<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
It was a great time of learning and bonding together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Our children played wonderfully together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
They especially enjoyed the art supplies we have<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
We all ate together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Ethan did amazingly well the entire day and loved the meal<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Little by little we are adapting and beginning to understand life here<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
