It was a stormy week<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\n
<\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n

Last week was difficult. \u00a0We walked along side our host family as they grieved the death of a family member. \u00a0This was our first time to be at a funeral here in Africa, but we weren’t able to just sit and observe it we were up front and involved. \u00a0It was a difficult time as we wanted desperately to be a support, but often didn’t know how to best do that. \u00a0Yet despite our weakness and uncertainty God was still at work. \u00a0Thursday, after the Funeral, Cecil’s neighbor came to tell us that he now sees that we not like others who have come and that we truly care about the people. \u00a0It was a great reminder to me that people are watching and that even when I can’t communicate much with words God’s love can still be seen.<\/p>\n

Other Encouragements in Our Stormy Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joel was invited to a conference in Dakar with some African pastors and leaders<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Although it was a lot in addition to a long week<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
It is encouraging that he is able to become involved<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
He even handled some of the translation for pastors from Kenya who only spoke English<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Our boys both fought a feaver and the sickness that has plagued our past month<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
But thankfully the feavers passed quickly<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
And we were back to the important tasks of life (constructing chairs for all our puppy friends)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
I sure was thankful for the extra help during this crazy week<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
