{"id":1679,"date":"2012-11-20T14:54:10","date_gmt":"2012-11-20T14:54:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joel-mcmartin\/?p=1679"},"modified":"2012-11-20T14:54:10","modified_gmt":"2012-11-20T14:54:10","slug":"30-days-of-thankfulness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joel-mcmartin\/2012\/11\/20\/30-days-of-thankfulness\/","title":{"rendered":"30 Days of Thankfulness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Although thanksgiving is not celebrated here, I still want to take some time to thank God for the many blessing that have come our way. \u00a0This year has been a year of learning how to appreciate the basics of life.<\/p>\n<p>I am thankful for&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>My Savior<\/li>\n<li>Running water<\/li>\n<li>Our support team who faithfully stands beside us in our ministry<\/li>\n<li>Every day that our family is completely healthy<\/li>\n<li>A Bible that I can read and understand<\/li>\n<li>The ability to learn language and adapt to a new cultures<\/li>\n<li>How God gently guides and sustains us through the dark times<\/li>\n<li>Electricity and all the blessings it provides when it is available<\/li>\n<li>The visual example my kids saw this year of how God provides and cares for us<\/li>\n<li>Our bug zapper and the sound it makes when I catch a mosquito<\/li>\n<li>Our new home that we will be moving into next week<\/li>\n<li>Skype which allows me to stay connected though I am far away<\/li>\n<li>The visitors we have coming this Christmas<\/li>\n<li>My amazing husband has stood by my side through the the trials and blessings of the year<\/li>\n<li>The box filled with cheese that my mom mails every 3 months.\u00a0 I could live without cheese, but am very glad I don&#8217;t have to.<\/li>\n<li>My two kids who have grown so much this past year<\/li>\n<li>A school that Ethan enjoys<\/li>\n<li>Our two nannies who came at different times and served by our side.<\/li>\n<li>An amazing host family who have helped us in so many ways this past year<\/li>\n<li>My Godly parents who have encouraged me and supported me throughout my life<\/li>\n<li>Our waterbed and fans which keeps us cool at night<\/li>\n<li>Our small African church who we worship and serve alongside<\/li>\n<li>The training we had and how it prepared us for our life here<\/li>\n<li>Mango season &#8211; YUM<\/li>\n<li>The beach and how it provides a place to get away<\/li>\n<li>The doors God is opening in our ministry here<\/li>\n<li>The cool evening air<\/li>\n<li>The opportunity we daily have to serve and give<\/li>\n<li>Power of prayer<\/li>\n<li>The reminder this blog has been of the blessings in our life<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although thanksgiving is not celebrated here, I still want to take some time to thank God for the many blessing that have come our way. \u00a0This year has been a year of learning how to appreciate the basics of life.
