Christmas Eve<\/strong> – We dressed up and made visits to all our neighbors (new and old). \u00a0After that we went to a program at our church that lasted from 8 to almost midnight. \u00a0We also had a potluck with our church family and visitors from the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Katie, Joel and I all had outfits made for Christmas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Joel wasn't too excited about the stiff material, but everyone else here was excited to see it<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
I get so excited to see people worshiping God. I hope I never lose the excitement of that<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Christmas – <\/strong>It was a day at home with our family. \u00a0It was wonderful to just enjoy being together.<\/p>\n

Tyler unfortunately wasn't feeling well<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
But a new soccer ball helps to chase the sickness away<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
The day was filled with good food<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Time together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
New Books<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Team building projects, surely 4 McMartins can set up a new toy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
New discoveries (how to use a walkie talkie)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Dirty Feet ( just a reality of life here)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Lots of smiles<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
and Lots of love<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Christmas Out in The Villlage – <\/strong>The day after Christmas we headed out to the village to celebrate Christmas with our host family in the village. \u00a0It was so special to bring our two families together.<\/p>\n

Ethan taught the kids to play Trouble<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Tyler ate willingly out of the kids bowl for the first time<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
I am getting closer to figuring out the art of tea making (the higher you pour, the more foamy it gets)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
There were great memories all around us<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

My Reflections this Christmas<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year I have appreciate the meaning of Christmas more than ever. \u00a0As Joel and I have been walking through God’s Story with Ethan it has reminded us again what a long awaited gift Jesus was. \u00a0As we have lived in Africa, we understand even more what it means that God came down to us. \u00a0As we live far away from family, we cherish every moment we have with them near. \u00a0This Christmas we celebrated together the long await birth of Jesus, who came to us, so that he could bring us home to be with God. \u00a0What a wonderful gift!<\/p>\n
