High –\u00a0<\/strong>Making a plan for next month.<\/p>\n

Low\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0– Watching that plan disappear before my eyes<\/p>\n

High –\u00a0<\/strong>Having a great meeting with our host family about the progress we have made and what goals we wanted to set for the future.<\/p>\n

Low –\u00a0<\/strong>Being asked why I don’t learn languages as well as my husband (in a cultural way that I know was supposed to encourage me to press on, but still)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

High<\/strong>\u00a0– Entering Phase 2 of Wolof<\/p>\n

Low<\/strong>\u00a0– Facing the shock of the new challenges that come with the second phase<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

High –\u00a0<\/strong>Welcoming 3 new families to the field of Senegal<\/p>\n

Low<\/strong>\u00a0– Hearing the trials they are facing and wishing I could do more (because I remember!)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

High\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0– Celebrating the birth of a new baby in our Church<\/p>\n

Low –\u00a0<\/strong>Going to yet another funeral<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

High\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0– Getting away for a night with my husband (thanks to Katie)<\/p>\n

Low – \u00a0<\/strong>Preparing my children to say Goodbye to their much loved nanny<\/p>\n

This week was filled with highs and lows. \u00a0Sometimes it is easier to notice and get overwhelmed by all the lows we faced in our week. \u00a0However I sometimes find it helpful to stop and make note of the highs that came with those lows. \u00a0It helps to make life a little less discouraging. \u00a0Thank you God for the highs and lows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
