Last week Joel traveled down with our leadership team to visit one of the villages we have missionaries working in. \u00a0Here are some of the highlights of his trip.<\/p>\n

Crossing Gambia <\/strong>– This is Joel’s first time to head down to the southern half of Senegal which requires crossing a river surrounded by a\u00a0separate\u00a0country. \u00a0They left Dakar at 2 am to try and beat the madness, yet even arriving so early it was still quite the adventure. \u00a0There are only two small boats that across the river and LOTS of cars who are fighting for a spot. \u00a0It is a story you will have to ask him to tell sometime.<\/p>\n

Visiting One of the Villages We Work In – <\/strong>It is one thing to hear and see pictures about where our missionaries are working, but it is quite different to see it for yourself. \u00a0It is always very exciting!<\/p>\n

This is the village they work in<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
They got a taste of life there<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
They traveled around the village<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
And saw the normal sights of life<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Including the local market<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Talking Strategy<\/strong>\u00a0– Joel got to listen as the team members and leadership sat down and talked strategy. \u00a0He really enjoyed hearing the discussions and gleaning from the wisdom that was present there. \u00a0The missionaries who are there are coming to the end of their language study and it is exciting to start to talk about strategies of how to share God’s word in their context. \u00a0It seems like there are always barriers and struggles to overcome, but we serve an amazing God. \u00a0Pray with us that there will be a strong body of believers worshiping God in their own language!<\/p>\n

We have it all here...from overloaded trucks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

To small motor Bikes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

They stayed in a nice small place on the beach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Even got to see how to make a palm drink <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Very interesting<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
and complex process<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
That's one way to make your building stick out<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
