One of the fun things about having visitors is that we do some of the touristy things here that we never do otherwise. \u00a0This past Saturday we went on an African Safari. \u00a0It is not anything as cool as you might see if you were in Southern Africa, which is full of animals (remember we live in the desert :)), but I was pleasantly surprised by it and all it all it was a great moment together as a family. \u00a0Here are some picture of what we saw.<\/p>\n

This is the car that took us around<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There were many amazing birds there<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
With so many bright colors<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
We got really close to all the animals, which was pretty neat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
We also got to see their families<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Young and all<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
We got so close to this guy that he started to run away from us \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
There were so many giraffes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
And a large herd of buffalo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Monkeys were all over in the trees<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
And of course the boys enjoyed the crocodiles<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
However the zebras were my personal favorite<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Next week we head into our official vacation with my parents. \u00a0I am taking a week off from language and we are going to the mission in Dakar to enjoy a break from a few of the realities of ministry that are always around us. \u00a0I am very glad that my parents were here long enough that they could not only have fun with us and experience the Safari, but also see a little bit of normal life, because normal life is not a safari. \u00a0So excited for the week of vacation ahead of us and especially for the ICE CREAM!!!<\/p>\n
