What Are Your Goals For Your Second Term?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wolof –<\/strong> We hope to continue to grow in our Wolof ability and to get to a point where we can comfortably converse in Wolof.\u00a0 We want to work with our boys on Wolof as well as we see the importance of that language here.<\/p>\n

Firming up Ministry – <\/strong>We have started in ministry, but are still in training for pieces of our ministry.\u00a0 We hope to finish our training next term and be able to feel a little more comfortable and established in our roles.<\/p>\n

Strengthening Our Relationship with The Local Church – <\/strong>Our local church has become our home here and we are very comfortable here.\u00a0 However we are working on strengthen our relationships with other churches in the area.\u00a0 We will continue to work on this when we return as we have really only begun.\u00a0
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Traveling More As A Family – <\/strong>We took one trip as a family this term and we quickly saw the value.\u00a0 It is easier for Joel to go by himself to visit our remote missionaries, but when we can do it as a family we are able to offer so much more encouragement to those missionaries: our kids can play together and I can interact with the wife or singles.\u00a0 It is good for our family as well as it limits the separation we have and we grow as a family through these adventures.\u00a0 We are hoping to be able to do this more and more and praying that God will provide the funds to make that more possible.<\/p>\n

Another Language? – <\/strong>Where we are located we are surrounded by some people groups who still to this day do not have a church. \u00a0There are also 9 young village churches around us that our local church is connected to.\u00a0 We believe that God has us here for a reason. We are learning wolof to continue ministering among these churches, but we are prepared to learn another language after wolof if God would have us work with one of these people groups. \u00a0Through our host family we have spent a lot of time in Fandine, their home village where is there is currently no church. \u00a0There is an old work of NTM not far away that still has no church. \u00a0Would we learn one of these languages to participate in bring the Gospel there? \u00a0 These are all options we hold open and as we finish Wolof next term, we will be praying that God will direct us if we are to begin working on learning a third language.<\/p>\n

This week we had the boys end of year performance at school<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

They had a great time and did really good at their performance<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Our 6 weeks of wolof ended last week and we are thankful for all the progress we have made<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
We are down to the last 10 days before our flight and we are feeling the push<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Pray for strength to make it to the end. We will be ready for a week of rest!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
