The last time I left you we had just been to a wedding in Dakar where we had the adventure of cooking on the roof. \u00a0The next week brought us another big wedding, but this time we were able to actually able to be spectators. \u00a0These weddings summarize for me a lot of how we feel about life right now.<\/p>\n

There are times of high encouragement when I finally see the pieces coming together. \u00a0There are realities of life here that are finally making sense to me. \u00a0There are moments when a key piece of the puzzle slips into place and suddenly I can start to see more of the picture. \u00a0Our first few years it felt like we were only gathering pieces and so it feels good now to start to be able to put them together in to a picture that is starting to make sense.<\/p>\n

Then there are moments when I feel lost in confusion as to what my role is or how I should respond. \u00a0Those time when I realize I can still only see a small portion of the picture and so much is still hidden from me. \u00a0Like those moments when I stare at a butchered cow and am told to grab the good sections of meat and deep down inside I scream…”How should I know!?!” \u00a0Yep there is still so many things to learn, a life time of information that we are still catching up on and in many ways will always be.<\/p>\n

We are on a journey. \u00a0We have made progress and are to the point where we function in life here just fine, but we still have so much to learn. \u00a0We restarted Wolof this week which is one huge section of the puzzle we are missing. \u00a0There are times that I get tired of learning and putting pieces together and then there are times that I look at the picture that we have put together so far and remember that it is worth it. \u00a0So we press on each week and each day, knowing that God is accompanying us each step of the way.<\/p>\n

A Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n

One highlight of my week last week was to see our churches here gather together for the first time. \u00a0It was a gathering of all denominations together under tents to worship together. \u00a0I was reminded of how God celebrates when his body is united.<\/p>\n

All our pastors worked together to see this take place<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Our youth united together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"And<\/a>
And led us in worship<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"The<\/a>
The message was on unity<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"I<\/a>
I couldn’t help but we encouraged<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"I<\/a>
I am sure that God was smiling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
