This past weekend was the wedding of two youth who have grown up in our church. \u00a0Weddings here are a community affair, each has his or her role to play. \u00a0We are slowly learning what those roles are and how to play our part. \u00a0Even the kids had a role to play this time. \u00a0The bride was a young lady who worked frequently with the kids of our church and the kids out in our neighboring village church. \u00a0So, in honor of her, the kids of our two churches practiced together and performed. \u00a0They walked down the aisle before her, they danced with her at the reception and they learned a song in Wolof and in Serer, her heart language, to sing for her. \u00a0Our boys learned a little of traditional dance here, wore traditional clothes and learned a song in 2 new languages. \u00a0It was a lot of work, but so worth it to help them continue to feel more a part of the body of Christ here.<\/p>\n

The parents of the groom. The father is one of the first believers at our church.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The choir who led many songs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Our<\/a>
Our church is too small so many were outside where they could neither hear nor see anything.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"It<\/a>
It was enough to make anyone ready to nap<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Young<\/a>
Young and old<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"We<\/a>
We invited a family out to experience a wedding<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"The<\/a>
They will move out in a few months, but it was a chance to meet a few new friends first<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"These<\/a>
These were some other friends who joined us for the wedding as well<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"The<\/a>
The kids danced again at the reception<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"With<\/a>
With the bride and groom in the middle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"It<\/a>
By the end of the day, I was a little tired<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Yet<\/a>
Yet it was a joy to be part of this as a family<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"But<\/a>
I love seeing the community of our church coming together to make a wedding happen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
