I left for Liberia, I was not ready to go. We had just gotten back to the kids and I had a hard time trying to wrap my head around packing and leaving again. I was very nervous about traveling on my own. Joel is the stable one, who handles the adventures and bumps in the road without getting all flustered. He is the one who doesn’t get turned around in new places and will venture out and find things on his own without a problem. Yet I knew that God had brought me on this trip and that he would get me through.

The goal of the trip was to touch base with a couple, Aaron and Amy, out in a remote village. They live in a location where they have to walk out to a field and tie up their phone to a pole to even get cell phone reception. They are working with the Glaro people, learning a VERY difficult language. Because of the challenges of their location and Ebola it had been almost 3 years since someone had made it out to their location. They are in the last stages of language learning and my goal was to touch base with them and help give direction for moving forward. They hope that teaching can begin in their village in the next year or so, but for that to be possible they need to be at a language level that would allow for the clear communication of God’s word.

The work this couple has done with very little support is amazing. I was so blessed by my week with them in their village. The love they have for the Glaro people radiated from them. The dependence they have on God astounded me. The desire they had to have to bring God’s word to these people is contagious.

So as you see pictures from my time there don’t forget to take a moment and pray for the Glaro. Pray for their hearts to be prepared for the message that will come their way soon. Pray for Aaron and Amy as they press on each day, relying on God to do what often seems impossible.

<a
